Paraguay’s great economic moment, which increased by 14% in 2010, is reflected in its meat exports. In January of 2011, Paraguay exported 8.2 tonnes of beef, while Argentina, the historical leader in the sector, exported 7.9 tonnes.
These figures consolidate the dynamics shown throughout the past year, when Paraguay exported over 170,000 tonnes of meat, coming closer than ever to Argentina’s 192,000 tonnes.
Beef is the second biggest export product of Paraguay, after soya. The country’s economy has grown more than any other since records began.
BBVA predicts that the high yields of the last harvest can be maintained, consequently boosting allied sectors such as the processing industry, transportation and commerce.
